Poll shows 81% of Russians agree with new free land policies.

Since 1 June, one hectare-sized plots of land in the Far East have been allocated for use in pilot areas, as identified by each federal subject of the Far Eastern Federal District, and given exclusively to residents of the federal subject. From 1 October 2016, residents of the Russian Far East will be able to claim their own hectare anywhere in the Far Eastern Federal District, and from 1 February 2017 all Russian citizens will have the same opportunity.
